Symptoms

Unable to load XML-based license in the NetWorker Management Console (NMC) or NetWorker Web User Interface (NWUI).

Error: "Invalid file selected"
invalid file selected error
licspec.properties was updated in accordance with the NetWorker Licensing Guide.

license.technology is set to XML.

license.path is set to dpa.xml.

Cause

Browsing of license in the XML format in NMC or NWUI is not supported.

Resolution

The workaround is:
  1. Copy and paste the license in the CLP License field.

Or 

Copy the license as dpa.xml. The resulting dpa.xml should be placed in the default license path, that is, C:\Program Files\EMC NetWorker\nsr\lic. 
  1. Restart the NetWorker service.
Linux: systemctl restart networker

Windows: net stop nsrd && net start nsrd
