Symptoms

All tasks have completed with exception for job securecopyanalyze. LAN indexing job failed (aborted by indexer due to canceled backupset, processing error: Aborted (Index segment creation failed: Could not create an index segment because an index is not selected), Canceled (Failed by crawler job)). No segments exist for processing.

Cause

The error shows that the setup may not have been completed as the index was not created and selected for the job.
To confirm check under the following location in the old UI:
Administration > Home > Index Manager > Indexes
If an index is created, it should look something like the below:
  index created
To confirm if an index has been selected or not by checking under the following location:
Administration > Home > Index Manager > Select Index
If an index has been selected, it should look something like:
index selected
 

Resolution

If the index is not created, create a new index:
Administration > Home > Index Manager > Add Index
create a new index
After creating the index, select the index:
Administration > Home > Index Manager > Select Index
Select Index
The issue will be resolved after creating and selecting the new index.
