NMC 9.0.x: Login fails with error: "An error occurred while validating user credentials. Verify that NetWoker Authentication Service is running"

Java has been updated to a newer version.

Attempt to login to Networker 9.0.x Management Console fails with error:

An error occurred while validating user credentials. Verify that NetWoker Authentication Service is running.
[Failed to connect to NW_SERVER; No error Server Message: Make sure that server is running.]

Java was updated to a newer version, and the new java path has not been updated in the Java Firewall rule in Windows Firewall.

1. Edit the inbound Windows Firewall rule that allows the connection for java executables and update the path to reflect the new java path.

or

2. Add a new rule to allow java.exe in Windows Firewall using the following command:

netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="Java - Allow with Networker 9" dir=in action=allow program="%PATH\java.exe" enable=yes

Where %PATH\java.exe is the path where java.exe is located, for example: C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_73\bin\java.exe
