ip ftp password

Specify a password for outgoing FTP connections.

Syntax ip ftp password [ encryption-type] password
Parameters
encryption-type (OPTIONAL) Enter one of the following numbers:
  • 0 (zero) for an unecrypted (clear text) password
  • 7 (seven) for a hidden text password
password Enter a string up to 40 characters as the password.
Defaults Not configured.

Usage Information The password is listed in the configuration file; you can view the password by entering the show running-config ftp command in EXEC mode.
