Settings Resources

Settings resources can be used to perform PATCH method on a desired future configuration. There are scenarios when iDRAC cannot apply changes at runtime, for example changing BIOS or Network settings. In other cases, some of the resource configuration may be disruptive to services offered by iDRAC (for example web server configuration) or reachability of iDRAC (for example change in network configuration). In such cases, it is recommended that IT administrators plan the configuration change tasks outside of critical business hours, that is a future maintenance window. A Settings resource is useful in such cases and represents the future state of a resource. When a resource response contains a "@Redfish.Settings" annotation property, it is implied that the resource supports future state and configuration. Settings resource typically supports GET and PATCH methods. An HTTP GET on Settings resource returns the previously configured values that are yet to be applied. An HTTP PATCH request on Settings resource is useful to configure the desired future configuration.
