Preparing to update the Cyber Recovery software

Before you update the Cyber Recovery software, ensure that you meet the prerequisites.

Before you perform the update procedure:

  • Ensure that all Cyber Recovery users are logged out.
  • Ensure that there are no jobs running.
  • Ensure that there are no scheduled jobs about to start.
  • For the Cyber Recovery virtual appliance, create a snapshot of the virtual appliance before you perform an update.
  • Run the following commands:
    • crsetup.sh --save—To back up data and save the backup copy outside of the Cyber Recovery server.
    • crsetup.sh --upgcheck—To ensure that all conditions are met so that you can update your environment.
    • crsetup.sh --verfiypassword—If necessary, to determine if you have the correct lockbox passphrase and the MongoDB and crso passwords, which are needed to complete the update. The script prompts for the passphrase and passwords, and confirms if the entries are correct.
NOTE:
  • Updates have no effect on existing assets, policies, and other Cyber Recovery objects. If your deployment uses the multilink feature, policies might be impacted; ensure that you review the policies after the update.
  • If you installed the Cyber Recovery software by using the Cyber Recovery virtual appliance file, follow the update procedure that uses the crsetup.sh setup script to update the Cyber Recovery software. See Updating the Cyber Recovery software and the Cyber Recovery virtual appliance.
