Access points

You can access the file system namespace through an access point. Root users can create an access point on the namespace, and initially only the root user has privileges for that access point. The root user can create an access control list (ACL) to provide read privileges for additional users.

The root user can also grant write privileges to users, but nonroot users with write privileges are unable to reconfigure the path of an existing access point.

Also, each file or directory in an access point has its own permissions, so even if a user has privileges for an access point, the user must still be given permissions for each file and directory.
