Removing the keyboard

1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
2. Remove the:
   1. base cover
   2. battery
3. Disconnect the keyboard cables from the connectors on the touchpad board [1, 2].
   
   NOTE The number of keyboard cables may differ based on the computer configuration.
4. To remove the keyboard:
   1. Using a plastic scribe, lift the keyboard trim from the edges to release it from the keyboard [1, 2, 3].
   2. Remove the screws that secure the keyboard to the computer [4].
      NOTE To avoid damage to the keyboard, gently remove the keyboard from the computer.
   3. Lift the keyboard from computer [5].
