Removing the system board

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. SIM card
    2. base cover
    3. battery
    4. memory
    5. hard drive assembly or M.2 SSD or PCIe SSD
    6. keyboard
    7. WLAN
    8. WWAN
    9. dock frame
    10. heat sink assembly
    11. power connector port
  3. Remove the SIM card tray from the computer.
  4. To remove the system board:
    1. Lift the latch and disconnect the speaker cable, touch pad and system board cable from the computer [1, 2, 3].
    2. Disconnect the power connector port cable from the system board [4].
    3. Remove the screws that secures system board to the computer [5].
    4. Lift the system board from the computer [6].
