Installing the fan assembly
Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
About this task
The following image indicates the location of the fan assembly and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure.
Steps
- Place the fan assembly on the heat sink assembly and align the screw holes.
- Tighten the three (M3) captive screws that secure the fan assembly to the heat sink assembly.
- Connect the processor-fan cable to the system board.

- Install the disk-drive cage.
- Install the front bezel.
- Install the side cover.
