Removing the internal antenna kit

CAUTION:The information in this section is intended for authorized service technicians only.

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the side cover.
  3. Remove the front bezel.

Steps

  1. Remove the (M2x3.5) screw that secures the wireless card bracket to the system board.
  2. Slide and lift the wireless card bracket away from the wireless card.
  3. Disconnect the antenna cables from the connectors on the wireless card.
  4. Gently pull the internal antenna cable out from the hole on the chassis.
  5. Remove the internal antenna cable from the routing guides on the chassis
  6. Remove the two screws (M3x3) that secure the internal antenna to the chassis.
  7. Remove the internal antenna assembly from the chassis.
