Installing the system board

Prerequisites

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.

About this task

Steps

  1. Align and lower the system board into the system until the stand-off points at the back of the system board align with those on the chassis.
  2. Replace the four screws (6-32) and the single standoff screw (M2X4) screw to secure the system board to the chassis.
  3. Connect the following cables to the respective connectors on the system board:
    • Intrusion switch
    • ATX system board power supply cables
    • Power button switch
    • ATX CPU power supply cable
    • SATA data cables
    • SATA power cable
    • System fan cable
  4. Place the metal bracket in position over the system board and front chassis, and install the two (6-32) screws.
  5. Route the SATA cables along the cable routing guide on the metal bracket.
  6. Align and lower the I/O panel into the slot on the chassis.
  7. Replace the screws (6-32) to secure the I/O panel to the chassis.
