Unisphere enables the user to configure and manage PowerMax, VMAX All Flash, and VMAX storage systems.
Unisphere is a HTML5 web-based application that enables you to configure and manage PowerMax, VMAX All Flash, and VMAX storage systems.
In the case of embedded deployment, Unisphere 10.0 runs embedded on
PowerMax 2500 or
PowerMax 8500 only. External deployment is required for storage systems running code levels below
PowerMaxOS 10 (6079).
The side panel has the following items when the
Overview view is selected:
Overview—View overview of the status of all storage systems being managed by Unisphere for PowerMax
System—View home dashboard view for all storage systems
Performance—Monitors and manages storage system performance data (Dashboards, Charts, Analyze, Heatmap, Reports, Plan, Real-Time traces, and Performance Database management). See

VMware—Views all the relevant storage-related objects at an ESXi server and helps troubleshooting storage performance-related issues at the ESXi server. See

Configuration-Allows the viewing and configuration of system profiles and provisioning templates.
Events—Includes Alerts and Job List.

Overview—View overview of the status of all storage systems being managed by Unisphere for PowerMax
Dashboard—View the following dashboards for a selected storage system: System Health, Storage Group (SG) compliance, Capacity, Performance, and Protection
Storage—Manage storage (storage groups, service levels, storage resource pools, volumes, external storage, PowerMax File, and vVol dashboard). See

Hosts—Manage hosts (hosts, masking views, port groups, initiators, PowerPath, mainframe, and CU images). See
Host Management for more information.
Data Protection—Manage data protection (snapshot policies, MetroDR, SRDF groups, migrations, virtual witness, open replicator, PowerMax File, and device groups). See
Data protection management for more information.
Performance—Monitors and manages storage system performance data (Dashboards, Charts, Analyze, Heatmap, Reports, and Plan). See

A Unisphere Representational State Transfer (REST) API is also available. The API enables you to access diagnostic, performance and configuration data, and also enables you to perform provisioning operations on the storage system.
