Removing the fan (on computers shipped with integrated graphics card)
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
- Remove the base cover.
- Remove the battery.
About this task
The following image indicates the location of fan and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Disconnect the fan cable from the I/O board.
- Peel the tape that secures the fan to the heat sink and the palm-rest assembly.
- Remove the three screws (M2x3) that secure the fan to the palm-rest assembly.
- Slide and lift the fan slightly off the palm-rest assembly.
