Almost three years after opening our first Solution Center, we recently opened the 15th in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This is the second center to be opened in the Latin America region (we opened a center in Mexico City in May) and we are excited that we can now support even more of our customers and partners in the region.
These Solution Centers make it possible for customers to see technology in action and make decisions based on the full picture. For example, when Socorro ISD began considering VDI solutions, David Akers, team leader, technical support services, for the district says “some vendors brought us bits and pieces of a solution, but the only vendor that offered a complete solution—from servers, storage and switches to support and deployment services—was Dell.” A team from Socorro ISD visited our Solution Center in Round Rock, Texas, to see Dell’s complete VDI solution, and as a result of that trip, Akers adds, the district realized that Dell Desktop Virtualization Solution includes everything the district needs to run VDI.
I was delighted to participate in the opening of our Sao Paulo Solution Center where I was joined by Diego Majdalani, vice president Dell Latin America, Raymundo Peixoto, vice president ESG, Dell Latin America, Luis Gonçalves, the newly-appointed general manager of Dell Brazil, and Cheryl Cook, vice president Global Channels and Alliance. We were joined by a large number of customers and alliance partners to celebrate the opening and we particularly appreciated the support of Microsoft, Intel and VMware who generously sponsored the event. Once the center was officially declared open, we took some time to showcase our capability with some fantastic solutions demos which included the award-winning PowerEdge VRTX, Flash Compellent and several BYOD and VDI solutions.
Cheryl joined her leadership team the next day to host an exclusive event for Premier Partners at the Solution Center. Thirty-six partners attended and were very excited to experience the capability of the center and have promised to return soon with their own teams to learn more.
We have built fantastic relationships with many of the channel partners who have engaged with us at our global Solution Centers over the past few years. Some partners choose to discuss elements of the Dell portfolio with our solution experts, while others bring their own customers to work on a particular business opportunity. These engagements are always particularly interesting and we are very proud to support our channel partners as they grow their business with us.
The decision to open another center in the LATAM region was an easy one given the level of engagement from customers in the region. A large number of customers have travelled to our US centers while others have leveraged our dedicated network and remote connectivity to work with us from their own offices – often including team-members from multiple locations.
Working together with customers and partners to explore solutions and solve business challenges every day is extremely exciting and an opportunity our solution experts relish. Most importantly, our customers also tell us that they realize great value from engaging with us –now that is feedback we’re more than happy to get! We’re looking forward to wowing many more customers at our Sao Paulo Solution Center very soon!
