If you have been following Dell in the mobile space, you know that China is a key part of our mobile strategy. China has grown to become the world’s largest smartphone market. Earlier this summer, we introduced the Streak 10 tablet, and today we’re building on that by introducing the Streak Pro smartphone to customers in China.
We unveiled Dell’s latest smartphone at a press conference earlier today in Beijing. Soon, the Streak Pro smartphone will be available for customers to order. It is the first smartphone based on the Baidu-Yi mobile platform. The Streak Pro smartphone will be available soon to China Unicom customers via Dell.com/cn and other designated channels.Click on either of the images in this post to see larger versions.
The new 3G+ smartphone features a powerful dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm processor and a Super AMOLED 4.3-inch display with a screen resolution of 960 x 540. That means images will look vibrant and sharp, even in sunlight. The screen also includes Corning Gorilla Glass for extra durability.
We paired solid hardware with the flexible Baidu-Yi mobile platform developed by Baidu to meet the needs of Chinese customers. The new mobile platform integrates some of the core Baidu services that customers in China already use, like the popular Ting music service for example. Many of these make use of the “localized” cloud services that are part of the mobile OS platform.
With the introduction of the Streak Pro smartphone, Dell remains committed to meeting the needs of customers in China—whether that means staying connected at work or enjoying the latest in mobile entertainment.
