How to install

To install Find My Dell by Absolute, follow these steps:

1. Go to findmydell.com/ to create your new Absolute account.
2. Check your email to verify your email address for this account.
3. Create your password, then log in to your new account.
4. Enter the Activation Code provided in Dell Optimizer or My Account .
5. Download the software installer on your device.
6. Run the MSI file to install and protect your device.

Note: It can take up to twenty minutes for your installed device to appear in your account.

Find my Dell by Absolute currently support devices running Windows 10 or 11 (Home and Pro).

Data Wipe is a data destruction feature that allows you to securely and remotely erase files from your device, thus protecting your personal information and preventing identity theft. We recommend using data wipe in cases where highly sensitive data is at risk, when a device is either lost, stolen or has been compromised.
Permanently wiping data from your device is also a best practice when you are ready to trade-in your device or give it away.

When you lock or freeze a device, you provide a custom message that is displayed. Once a device is locked, a full screen version of the message is displayed. If someone is logged in to your device when the lock is applied, they are immediately logged out and the message shows instead. A user can't dismiss, minimize, or bypass the full screen message to get to the device. If an individual restarts the device, the device remains locked, even if it's restarted in safe mode.

After you install the Absolute app on your device, its location will report into your account at app.absolute.com. You can remotely log into your account from any other device or phone to view the location details. Device location cannot be shared outside of your account.

Yes, when you purchase more than one license, you can add them all to one account using the same email and password login. Up to 50 devices can be managed within one account.
For larger organizations, Absolute’s Resilience and Control provide IT administrators with the ability to perform multiple operations to secure and restore all their endpoints from cyber incidents.

Find My Dell by Absolute requires the following data to be collected:

• Location data: Gathered from OS location, Wi-Fi triangulation, and if available, GPS.
• Hardware identifiers: Serial number, MAC address and device name.
• Antivirus information: Name, version and install date.

No personal data (for example name, telephone, or browsing history) is collected at any time. Email is used only during the activation process, and when you are accessing the app.
