Help Me Choose: Graphics Cards

XPS 15 9520
Whether you’re gaming, watching movies or editing content, the quality of the graphics you experience is only as good as your Graphics card. Along with the computer monitor itself, the Graphics card is dedicated to processing visual information for your system's display, determines the number of colors, as well as the contrast, resolution and overall graphics.

Shared Graphics Cards

Shared Graphics use system memory that is shared with the Processor chip. Because of this integration, they balance performance, price, battery life, and fan noise though cannot deliver the best possible visual experiences.

Recommended For: Regular use of office productivity applications such as Outlook and PowerPoint; Stream a TV show, playing games like solitaire or Minecraft or need the longest life from your laptop battery.

Suggested Cards: Intel® UHD Graphics & Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics

Discrete Graphics Cards

Discrete Graphics dedicate computing power and memory to delivering robust visual experiences. Because discrete graphics use more power, they drain your battery and generate more heat and noise.

Recommended For: Important for games or editing and creating images and video because those kinds of applications create, or render, video in real time.

Suggested Cards: NVIDIA® GeForce RTX®.
