Symptoms

During vProxy FLR operation, the mount fails with error:

Unable to validate guest credentials: ServerFaultCode: The guest operating system agent has been configured to disable the operation.

Cause

Settings changes were made to VMware Tools for security hardening.

The following entry is in the tools.conf file found in C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware Tools. 
[guestoperations]
disabled=true
This setting may be seen as 'guest-8.Tools-deactivate-guestoperations' in security software

Resolution

1.Remove the guest operations setting from the tools.conf file by hashing out or deleting from the file C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware Tools\tools.conf.

2. Retry the FLR operation.
