Cause
This is due to a software issue.
When a GDDRMAIN worker subtask terminates, its work area address is retrieved from the forward pointer in the first-level save area, after the storage is freed. If the forward pointer in the first-level save area contains all zeros, the S378-1C abend occurs.
Resolution
Permanent Fix:
- For GDDR 6.1, PTF GD61042 is available to address the issue. It is available to download from Dell Technologies Online Support.
- This issue does not exist in GDDR 6.0.
