PowerStore: NDU failed because NAS server cannot reach the peer DNS server

Symptoms

If there is a transient network issue during NDU, DNS can fail which in turn results in NDU failure.
After restart of the NAS server, the health status of DNS is not cleared although the appliance has recovered from the transient network error.


 

Cause

Due to network problems, sometimes, NAS server cannot reach the peer DNS server. If this happens during NDU, the SDNAS health status gets degraded and results in NDU failure.

Resolution

 

Network issues must be resolved so that DNS errors are resolved. NDU can be retried after clearing the DNS errors.
In case the NDU fails again, call technical support.
