Symptoms

New deployment of vProxy to new vCenter server.

The NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) integration is being configured with the vProxy appliance. The virtual machine (VM) backups fail to initialize due to a config file download.  The vProxy backup session log shows:
...

Cause

The VMware View account used to register the vCenter resource (NSR Hypervisor) is not assigned to a role which contains the minimum required permissions to perform the backup operations.

Resolution

Review the vCenter Role permissions to ensure it has the minimum required permissions for the NVP solution. The required minimum user role permissions are documented in the "Creating a dedicated vCenter user account and EMC Backup and Recovery role" section of the Dell NetWorker VMware Integration guide.  To confirm which permissions the vCenter user account is missing, the ProxyHC utility can be used:
NVP-vProxy: How to use health check tool ProxyHC on vProxy appliance

The syntax to confirm permissions is: ./ProxyHC perm
