Symptoms

Cenário: 2 VMs (VM1 VMDK size 2,5 TB, VM2 VMDK size 3,51 TB) backups falhando com erro:

Cause

O erro "VM_NAME.vmdk is bigger than the maximum file size supported on datastore" é do datastore VMware no qual o vProxy reside.

Resolution

VMware vMotion/Migrar o vProxy para outro datastore no mesmo cluster, e o backup foi bem-sucedido.

Para corrigir o problema do datastore, reinicie cada um dos hosts do ESXi no cluster para obter uma conexão/montagem limpa de todo o armazenamento F/C. Entre em contato com o suporte da VMware para investigar ainda mais o problema do datastore.
