- Direct software upgrade from PowerStoreOS 3.0.x to PowerStoreOS 4.0.0.x
- Direct software upgrade from PowerStoreOS 3.2.x to PowerStoreOS 4.0.0.x
The following host mechanism may contribute to exposing this issue:
- Use of SCSI reservations to control access to volumes. SCSI reservations are seen in clustered host environments, hosts configured for high availability, virtualized environments, and when using backup/restore based applications.
Cause
SCSI reservation requests sent to a PowerStore appliance during a software upgrade may not be processed correctly.
In rare scenarios, internal services may be impacted for a brief period of time.

Resolution
This issue is fixed in PowerStoreOS 4.0.1.0 (and greater).
This issue is not encountered when performing a direct upgrade from PowerStoreOS 3.0.x or PowerStoreOS 3.2.x to PowerStoreOS 4.0.1.0 (and greater).
