Cause

Intel IPF driver:

  • Incorrectly labels the warning as error message in the Event Viewer
  • Triggers a catastrophic error (CATERR) one amber and eight white
  • Blocks the computer from resuming from modern standby

Resolution

Note: Before starting the update, perform the following:
  • Back up all personal data. For more information, refer to Back Up and Recovery.
  • Ensure that power remains connected to the desktop.

Updating the Intel Innovation Platform Framework and Provider Package Driver to version 2.2.10205.3621, A07 or later, and Intel Dynamic Tuning Driver to version 9.0.11910.61833, A05 or later on the computer resolves the issue. To download and install the driver, refer to the Driver Update Guide.
