Symptoms

ALS may not function properly and change brightness automatically. The issue occurs after restarting the computer.

Affected Platforms:

  • Dell Pro Precision 7 14 PW714260
  • Dell Pro Precision 7 16 PW716260 

Cause

The operating system has an unexpected error, which causes the brightness cannot adjust automatically when resume from a lower power state.

Resolution

Microsoft has fixed the issue in the 2026 February release. To get updates for Windows, select Start > Settings > Windows Update, then select Check for updates. If updates are available, you can choose to install them.
