Installing the CMC module

Prerequisites

CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that are shipped with your product.

Ensure that you read the Safety instructions.
Remove the CMC module.
NOTE: You must remove the CMC module to replace a faulty module or service other components inside the system.

Steps

Unpack the CMC module and prepare it for installation.
Slide the CMC module into the enclosure until the CMC module connector engages with the pins on the midplane.
Connect the cables to the CMC module.
