Removing heat sink assembly

Heat sink assembly comprises of heat sink and the system fan.
  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the :
    1. base cover

    2. battery

  3. To remove the heat sink assembly:
    • NOTE: To identify the number of screws, see screw list
    1. Remove the M2 x 5 screws (6) that secure the heat sink assembly to the system board [2].
      • NOTE: Remove the screws in order of the callout numbers [1, 2, 3, 4] as printed on the heat sink assembly.
    2. Lift the heat sink assembly from the system board [3].
    3. Disconnect the fan cable from the system board [1]
