The SBE packages including APEX Cloud Platform Manager update package, firmware update package, driver update package that is deployed by Dell APEX Cloud Platform are digitally signed by Microsoft and validated upon deployment by Microsoft. The APEX Cloud Platform Manager OVA is digitally signed by Dell Technologies and is validated upon deployment by Microsoft.
The LCM bundle contains a combination of artifacts that are used to upgrade or update the
Dell APEX Cloud Platform for Microsoft Azure cluster. The LCM bundle contains the following:
- APEX Cloud Platform Manager (Dell signed OVA)
- PowerEdge firmware:
- BIOS
- iDRAC
- Network
- Etc.
- WHQL signed drivers
Windows Defender Application Control
Windows Defender Application Control (WDAC) controls what runs on the Windows operating system by setting policies that specify whether a driver or application is trusted.
Dell APEX Cloud Platform for Microsoft Azure enables and enforces WDAC policies by default. You can only run software that is included by Dell Technologies or Microsoft as part of this solution.
