Installing the chassis fan
Prerequisites
If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the chassis fan and provides a visual representation of the installation procedure.
Steps
- Align the slots on the fan with the rubber grommets on the chassis.
NOTE: Service fan will have tabs plugged on one side to avoid incorrect installation of the fan.
- Route the rubber grommets through the slots on fan and pull the rubber grommets until the fan snaps into position.
- Connect the fan cable to the system board.
