Removing the 3-cell battery
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the base cover.
About this task
The following image indicates the location of the 3-cell (41 Wh) battery and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Peel the tape that secures the battery cable to the system board.
- Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
- Remove the three (M2x3) screws that secure the 3-cell battery to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Lift the 3-cell battery, along with its cable, off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
