Removing the speakers
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Enter Service Mode.
- Remove the base cover.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the speakers and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Open the latch and disconnect the keyboard backlit cable, keyboard cable, and the touchpad cable from the system board.
- Note the speaker cable routing, and remove the speaker cable from the routing guides on the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Peel the tape that secures the speaker cable to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board.
- Lift the speakers, along with the cable, off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
