Removing the base cover
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Enter Service Mode.
About this task
The following images indicate the location of the base cover and provide a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Loosen the two (M2x7.75) captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Remove the seven (M2x4) screws that secure the base cover to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover beside the display hinges, and then continue to work on the sides to open the base cover.
- Lift the base cover off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
