Removing the battery

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the base cover.
  3. To remove the battery:
    1. Disconnect the battery cable from the connector on the system board [1].
    2. Loosen the M2.5x5 captive screw (1) that secure the battery to the laptop [2].
      NOTE

      Touch system is shipped with 51 Whr battery and Non-Touch system is shipped with 68 Whr. battery.

      • Both 68 and 51 Whr battery have only 1 screw.
      • A 92 Whr battery has two screws.
    3. Lift the battery away from the laptop chassis [3].
      NOTE Touch system is shipped with 51 Whr battery and Non-Touch system is shipped with 68 Whr.
