Removing the System Board

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working on Your Computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. SD card
    2. battery
    3. SIM card
    4. base cover
    5. memory
    6. keyboard trim
    7. keyboard
    8. coin-cell battery
    9. audio-connector board
    10. hard drive
    11. WLAN card
    12. WWAN card
    13. system fan
    14. heatsink
  3. Disconnect the following cables from the system board:
    1. touchpad
    2. audio connector
    3. speaker
    4. touch panel
    5. network connector
    6. display-cable bracket and display
    7. power

  4. Remove the screws that secure the system board to the chassis.

  5. Lift and remove the system board from the chassis.
