Ensure that the minimum RAM and disk space requirements for Unisphere for PowerMax are met. For more information about server requirements, see Pre-installation considerations.
If upgrading Solutions Enabler on a Linux platform from a version lower than 9.2.x, you must perform the upgrade only as the root user (that is, the user running the Solutions Enabler daemons). This behavior is because the root user installed Solutions Enabler 9.1. Attempting to perform the Solutions Enabler upgrade as a nonroot user fails.
Upgrades to Unisphere for PowerMax are supported from root to root, or nonroot to nonroot only. The Unisphere for PowerMax Java process runs using the same user account that runs the Solutions Enabler daemons.
Before commencing any upgrade process, ensure that backups of all data have been made.
