Upgrade paths

You can upgrade directly to Unisphere for PowerMax 10.0.1.0 from Unisphere for PowerMax 9.2.3.x, or later.

NOTE: To upgrade to 10.0.1.0 from a version earlier than 9.2.3.x, first upgrade to 9.2.3.x, and then to 10.0.1.0.
NOTE: Unisphere for PowerMax release 10.0.0.0 onwards uses PostgreSQL version 12.

On SUSE Linux Enterprise Server platforms, PostgreSQL version 12 is supported only on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP5, or later.

On Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server platforms, PostgreSQL version 10 is supported only on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server version 7.8, or later.

The installation program automatically upgrades your installation according to the settings used in the previous installation, including port and connection type.

The following Unisphere for PowerMax settings from your previous installation are maintained through the upgrade process:

  • Users
  • Alert policies and threshold settings
  • Email settings: Mailing list and SMTP configuration
  • Performance dashboard settings
  • Queries
