Upgrading Unisphere for PowerMax on Linux

About this task

To upgrade Unisphere for PowerMax using the command line on Linux:

Steps

  1. Stop the SMAS service, as described in Starting and stopping the SMAS service.
  2. Access the software, as described in Step 1: Accessing the software.
  3. Go to the location of the installation files and run the appropriate executable file for your operating system.
  4. When prompted to do so, confirm that you want to upgrade the installed features.
  5. The installation script displays the current Unisphere version and the version to which you are upgrading. Press Enter.
  6. A warning about support for V2 arrays is displayed. Press Enter to continue the upgrade.
  7. A database backup warning is displayed. Press Enter to continue the upgrade. To preserve performance data, ensure that a backup has been performed.
  8. In the Introduction - Upgrade Unisphere for PowerMax page, press Enter.
  9. In the Pre-Installation Summary page, press Enter.
  10. Press Enter through each option in the upgrade process.
    The upgrade process completes.
