Dell SRDF Introduction

PDF

SRDF/Metro life cycle

The following demonstrates the life cycle of an SRDF/Metro configuration in relation to the life cycle of an application:

  1. Initial provisioning and configuration setup

Allocate devices for the application on two arrays, turn those devices into an SRDF/Metro configuration, and activate the configuration.

  2. Adding and removing devices

As the storage needs of the application change, add devices to and remove them from the SRDF/Metro configuration.

  3. Removing the SRDF/Metro configuration

When the application reaches the end of its life, the SRDF/Metro configuration becomes obsolete and is dismantled.
