Removing the inner frame

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the SD card.
  3. Remove the base cover.
  4. Remove the battery.
  5. Remove the WLAN card.
  6. Remove the WWAN card.
  7. Remove the primary M.2 SSD.

Steps

  1. For the computers shipped with WWAN card:
    1. Remove the (M2x3) screw that secures the Darwin bracket in place.
    2. Remove the Darwin bracket away from the computer.
    3. Disconnect the two Darwin antenna cables from the connector on the system board.
  2. Unroute the WLAN and WWAN antenna cables from the routing guide.
  3. Remove the eight (M2x5) and the nine (M2x2.5) screws that secure the inner frame to the computer chassis.
  4. Remove the inner frame from the computer.
    NOTE: If the thermal pad attached to the bottom side of the inner frame is detached, while removing the inner frame, adhere it back to its correct location.
