Removing the Palmrest

1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer.
2. Remove the:
   1. battery
   2. base cover
   3. keyboard trim
   4. keyboard
   5. optical drive
   6. hard drive
3. Disconnect the RFID and fingerprint reader cables. Remove the screws which secure the palmrest to the computer.

   

4. Flip the computer and disconnect the following cables from the system board:
   1. media board
   2. speaker
   3. touchpad
   4. power button

   

5. Remove the screws that secure the palmrest to the computer and flip it over from the edge to remove from the computer.
