Removing the System Board

1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer.
2. Remove the:
   1. SD card
   2. ExpressCard
   3. battery
   4. base cover
   5. keyboard trim
   6. keyboard
   7. optical drive
   8. hard drive
   9. primary memory
   10. secondary memory
   11. processor fan
   12. video-card fan
   13. palmrest
   14. heat sink
   15. processor
   16. video-card heat sink
   17. video card
   18. I/O board
   19. display assembly
3. Disconnect the coin-cell battery cable.

   

4. Disconnect the USH connector cable and wi-fi switch cable.

   

5. Remove all mini-cards (if available).
6. Remove the screws that secure the system board in place and lift the top edge of the system board to a 20° angle.

   

7. Disconnect the power connector cable and remove the system board.
