Dell Storage Compellent Integration Tools for VMware Administrator’s Guide Version 3.1

Registering VASA Provider

The Dell VASA Provider must be registered to establish a connection between the VMware vCenter Server and VASA Provider. After VASA Provider is registered, VMware vCenter collects alarm data from VASA Provider every 10 seconds. In addition, a Sync command can be used to manually synchronize data between VASA Provider and VMware vCenter.

  • NOTE: Before VASA Provider can be registered, the CITV appliance must validate DNS resolution to the vCenter Server. The CITV CLI prompts you to validate the DNS configuration before allowing you to register VASA Provider.
