Troubleshooting VASA Provider

If the VMware vCenter Server is unable to connect to the VASA provider:

If no datastore capabilities are being displayed in VMware vCenter:

  • Verify that a valid vendor ID and model ID are listed for the registered storage provider on the VMware vCenter Server. See Verify Vendor Provider Details .
  • Verify that the Storage Center on which the datastores are located have been added to the Enterprise Manager. See the Enterprise Manager Administrator’s Guide.
  • Verify that the VASA provider is running. See Restart VASA Provider .

If further troubleshooting is required, Dell Technical Support might need a copy of the VASA provider logs for analysis. See Restart VASA Provider .

  • NOTE: A known issue with the VASA API prevents description information from being displayed in event messages.
