Allow a Live Volume to Automatically Swap Roles
Live Volumes can be configured to swap primary and secondary volumes automatically when certain conditions are met to avoid situations in which the secondary volume receives more IO than the primary volume.
Steps
- Click the Replications & Live Volumes view.
- On the Live Volumes tab, select the Live Volume, then click Edit Settings. The Edit Live Volume dialog box appears.
- Select the Automatically Swap Roles check box.
- (Optional) Modify the default swap behavior by editing the Min Amount Before Swap, Min Secondary Percent Before Swap (%), and Min Time As Primary Before Swap (Minutes) fields. These fields are described in the online help.
- Click OK.
