Removing the fingerprint reader

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery
    2. optical drive
    3. keyboard
    4. base cover
    5. hard drive
    6. I/O board
  3. To remove the fingerprint reader:
    1. Disconnect the fingerprint reader from the connector on the system board [1].
    2. Remove the single M2L2.5 screw that secures the hard drive assembly to the computer [2, 3].
    3. Lift the fingerprint reader board away from the computer [4].
