Customers Speak: Dell #1 Midrange Storage Vendor Topping All Competition

Dell has had more than our fair share of accolades for our data center technologies, and this week we learned of another one which came from customers.  This month, enterprise storage users have spoken, and rated Dell as the  #1 midrange storage array vendor in the industry, based on the results of the eighth annual Storage Magazine/ Quality Awards.

This recognition acknowledges and reaffirms our commitment to providing the highest quality of storage solutions for our customers.  Dell is no stranger to leading in storage quality, according to Storage Magazine, “of the previous seven Quality Awards, Compellent came out on top on two, EqualLogic nabbed one and Dell scored highest on another – so Dell’s win this year isn’t so surprising considering its shrewd acquisitions over the past few years.”

The story notes, “Midrange arrays are in the ‘sweet spot’ of networked storage.” Dell has been recognized as the overall leader in this category as voted on by surveyed readers, who rank vendors on a scale of 1.00-8.00. Dell’s 6.80 rating leads all vendors across the board, and users also ranked us as best in the industry in the initial product quality and technical support categories, posting the highest single category score of 6.99 for initial product quality.

Easy implementation and management are hallmarks of midrange storage arrays and are key reasons they appeal to large and small businesses alike. If you are currently running one of our storage arrays in your data center, you have witnessed firsthand how easy it is to get these arrays up and running. The story notes customers rated Dell storage products an excellent 6.97 when considering “This product delivers good value for the money.” In addition, feedback on ease of use, being easy to get up and running, and minimal vendor intervention required, led Dell to sweep the initial product quality category overall.

Technical support can make or break a customer’s experience and we pride ourselves on offering the highest possible customer support in the industry. If you’ve used our Copilot support services or ProSupport Plus, then you’ll understand why users ranked Dell on top in technical support. Dell posted a 7.13 for “Vendor supplies support as contractually specified,” the highest statement rating across all categories. In addition, Dell had 7.0 plus ratings for having a knowledgeable support staff and for resolving problems in a timely manner. We continued to prove our commitment to customer service by receiving a pair of 6.89s for support issues that rarely require escalation and for taking ownership of problems.

Ease of use and world class customer service are the fundamentals of our Storage business. Dell has made a tradition out of listening to you, our customers. We’re hearing you want high quality solutions that provide excellent reliability and performance while being able to scale easily to provide you with the best total cost of ownership.  And you want a partner who will offer the services to help you get the most out of your technology investments. This is where we are focused and what we offer –in storage and across the data center. In turn, you’ve rewarded us with your support. We take great pride in hitting the mark and are committed to providing you with the highest quality of storage solutions and remain energized to continue to deliver new storage innovations that will help you reach your goals.Let's continue to talk with one another, follow us on Twitter @Dell_Storage.
