Symptoms

Dell Qualcomm-based computers are unable to detect Thunderbolt 1 and Thunderbolt 2 (TBT1/TBT2) devices.

Affected Platforms:

  • Inspiron 14 Plus 7441
  • Latitude 7455
  • XPS 13 9345

Cause

Qualcomm USB4 does not support Thunderbolt 1 and Thunderbolt 2 devices.

Resolution

The computer is working as designed.

Connect only Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 devices to the Dell Qualcomm-based computer.
