Symptoms
During the discovery of a PowerProtect DD system in PowerProtect Data Manager, the following error is displayed:
ADS0005 Unable to discover protection storage PowerProtect DD System with address <n.n.n.n> because of com.emc.brs.common.resource.ResourceException: Error while executing /rest/v1.0/systemcode: 5468 statusCode: 400 Error: **** Authentication token is empty..
Cause
The error occurs when the login-max-active option on the Data Domain system is set too low, preventing PowerProtect Data Manager from establishing a valid session and retrieving the required authentication token.
To verify the current setting, run:
# adminaccess option show login-max-active
Resolution
To address the issue:
- Log in to the Data Domain system using CLI.
- Increase the maximum number of active login sessions by running:
# adminaccess option set login-max-active 100
- Retry the discovery operation from the PowerProtect Data Manager user interface.
This change sets the login-max-active value to its default, allowing PowerProtect Data Manager to successfully authenticate and complete the discovery process.
