Symptoms

Command from client symcli to EEM server symcli failed with error "A remote send or receive operation failed".

There are no symapi.log generated on client symcli.

Checked server end and found following entry in storsrvd.log: 
<Info > [7791 Listener] Sep-23 11:29:50.196 : New client connection received
<Info > [7791 Conn-7] Sep-23 11:29:50.196 : Connection received from host !Local!
<Info > [7791 Conn-7] Sep-23 11:29:50.196 : Received control msg: Authorize [0] - rights: ffffffff, [PRIVUSER] 'root'
Above log indicates that client connection is received successfully however commands are still failing with above error.

Ping from client symcli to server IP is successful.

Cause

Unable to communicate from client to sever symcli.

Resolution

Ensure that port 2707 is open. Once port 2707 was opened, able to execute commands successfully.
